Li Po

is a completely free download of a children's book, written by William.

It is essentially a follow-  on from a story he wrote called "The Ace of Hearts" that won a national UK short story writing competition in 1990

   "TRAVELS WITH LI PO"

didn't quite manage to get into print despite the fact that it was forged in the furnace of political upheaval. It was offered to many publishers in the early nineties including Amnesty International. 

It is here included with the prize-winning story from which it was cast. Enjoy.

             OUR WALK&TALK TOUR                        

One of our trio would be happy to take you on a guided tour of The People's Gallery and all its eleven murals that are pictured above. We are ashamed to tell you that one or two 'tour guides' will deliberately march you past the murals as if they were not there, despite the fact that you may have come expressly to see them and have paid good money for the purpose. We consider this behavior abusive, dishonest and deplorable. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of being duped in this fashion do bring your grievance to the attention of your own group leader. mural Bogside

The Bogside Artists' tour on the other hand is devoted exclusively to the murals of The People's Gallery. This walkabout tour lasts about one hour. Later, you can relax back at the studio and be  further informed about the city and its turbulent past by film and slide show. At the studio too, you can browse around the masterpieces in our new Gallery, built recently to showcase some of the young art talent in the city. It was opened by our good friends Pauline Ross of the Playhouse Theatre and SDLP leader Mark Durkan.

The presentation is followed by a brief question and answer session. For many, a tour of the murals has been the highlight of their visit to Derry and even Ireland.

Obviously, it is physically impossible to take single individuals on a lengthy tour nor should you expect it. The tour is aimed mainly at groups of five or more but that doesn't mean you cannot join a group that has already booked. It is simply a matter of letting us know when you plan to visit and which afternoon tour you would like to be on. This is easily done via phone, email or the bookings form provided.

We are also pleased to announce that our tour agent is situated at the Tourist Information shop in  the Guidlhall Square. Look for the familiar i  sign. We look forward to seeing you.
