THE PLACE TO VISIT
Throughout the summer months and well into September thousands of people will be flocking to DERRY, Northern Ireland, from all over the world.
They travel here to view the extraordinary |
place known as The Bogside that has witnessed much of the troubles in the city since 1969. |
that is unique in the world, a visual narrative of a people's enduring social conflict. Here you can see and feel the events that have shaped thousands of lives. Countless tourists visit The People's Gallery each year and many of them visit the studio. |
|
Bookings can be made for any time. You can do this by clicking HERE The group has charitable status and works on its own initiative. For obvious reasons, and because walkabout tours of the murals can last up to an hour, groups of five or more are preferred but any individual can drop in on a talk at the studio. Talks are from 11am to 5pm continuous. Tours are from 12pm to 1pm and from 3pm to 4pm. These invariably include a visit to the studio and gallery. All are welcome! For most who have come to us, the visit has been the highlight of their holiday to Ireland. We look forward to seeing you! THE STUDIO AND ITS LOCATION
THE BOGSIDE ARTISTS' STUDIO and GALLERY is situated within a few yards of the murals
themselves, directly behind the famous Bogside Inn, in the heart of The
Bogside. There,
the artists conduct their workshops, design their murals and meet with visitors who are interested in
their work. They talk about their lives and experiences and present their work in the form of slides, documentaries and a
DVD. Question time is fun all by itself!

| Anyone wishing to
visit the studio would be well advised to contact the artists first.
